Shahzeb Ahmed started his career in journalism with The Express Tribune, a daily newspaper in Pakistan. He worked on the Karachi desk for three years, where he was second-in-charge to the City Editor.
He has also reported on a range of issues in the fields of health, science, politics, crime, urban issues etc, besides special reports during elections and budget announcements.
Most recently, he worked for Dawn, Pakistan's largest-circulating English language newspaper, on the national desk where he was part of the core team responsible for bringing out the front, back and international pages.
Shahzeb graduated with a Masters in Journalism from the Medill School of Journalism, Northwestern University in June 2017.

Ali is an experienced Accounts and Finance professional with over 10 years of industry experience including utility, trade, manufacturing and educational businesses. He possesses expertise in Financial & Management Reporting, Budgeting & Control, Grants Management, Manufacturing Accounting, General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Sales Tax and Construction Contracts. He has worked on various financial systems and remained a key player in the implementation of Oracle E-Business Suite 11i/R12 and Sidat Hyder Financials.
Ali holds BBA and MBA in Finance & Accounting, he was associated with the Sui Southern Gas Company Limited, IWI Pakistan Pvt. Ltd, The City School and ABM Data Systems Pvt. Ltd.
Muhammad Ali Baloch

Mohammad Ali Baloch is the Technology Officer at the Centre for Excellence in Journalism at CEJ-IBA. Having 12 years of broadcast engineering experience, Baloch remained associated with Geo News in the past. He holds a BE Degree in Electronics from Dawood Engineering College Karachi. He also has an LLB from SM Law College, and MBA from SZABIST, Karachi. His association with Geo News groomed him in areas like TV production, morning shows, live news, election transmissions e, entertainment programs, and many others.
Baloch is a professional engineer affiliated with Pakistan Engineering Council.

Muna Khan has worked in print and online journalism since 1995 in Pakistan, Vietnam and the United Arab Emirates. She started at Newsline magazine in Karachi and has since worked at Dawn, both as editor of the weekly Review magazine and later as an editorial writer; at Vietnam News in Hanoi, as editor of Al Arabiya English in Dubai, and, was part of the launch team of Express Tribune newspaper. More recently she was as an editor at Newsweek Middle East in Dubai. Muna graduated with a Masters in Journalism from Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University in June 2017.
Christie Marie Lauder

Christie Marie Lauder is the Program Manager at the Centre for Excellence in Journalism. A Hampshire College and Temple University alumni, she has a BA in American Studies, with a minor in religious studies. Her career has included writing on popular culture and women's issues for a number of international outlets, as well as being a founding editor at Persephone Magazine and The Powder Room.
Lauder served as acting director of CEJ from May 2015 through April 2016.
Madiha Shah Modi

An ICFJ exchange fellow, Modi brings with her diverse experience of digital journalism, public relations and communications. She is currently serving as a Senior Executive Communications at the CEJ-IBA. During her tenure as a multimedia journalist, she was associated with the renowned media organizations of Pakistan including Geo News, The Express Tribune and Business Recorder. She has also completed a fellowship at the biggest online news aggregator, The Huffington Post, in Washington, DC in 2014. Madiha holds an MA in English-Linguistics from the University of Karachi.

Hammad Sarfraz is a lecturer at the Centre for Excellence in Journalism at IBA in Karachi. He started his career as a journalist with a primary interest in politics and foreign policy at the Express Tribune, an English language national daily affiliated with the New York Times. While steering the main desk of the newspaper, he also wrote perspective pieces on a wide range of local and global issues. He graduated with a bachelor's in Media and holds a master's degrees from Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University, where he was an ICFJ fellow.
When he is not busy at CEJ, Sarfraz is an avid cyclist and a devoted cat lover. He lives in Karachi.
Ayesha Azhar Shah

Ayesha Azhar Shah is Grant Writing Officer at Center for Excellence in Journalism at IBA in Karachi. She has over seven years of experience in both print and broadcast journalism. Formerly, she was associated with the Express Tribune, an English language national daily affiliated to the New York Times. She has a Masters of Arts in Law and Diplomacy from The Fletcher School at Tufts University and a BSc in Social Sciences from the Lahore University of Management Sciences.

Kamal Siddiqi is the Director of Center for Excellence in Journalism at IBA in Karachi. He has over twenty-six years of experience in journalism. Formerly he was the editor of The Express Tribune, an English language national daily affiliated to the New York Times. He is a fellow of the Center for Democratic Development and Rule of Law (CDDRL) at Stanford University. He has an MSc Economics with specialization in Media and Communication Studies from the London School of Economics. He was also a lecturer in journalism at Monash University, Australia.
Hira Siddiqui is the Program Executive, Centre for Excellence in Journalism at IBA in Karachi. She has been associated with journalism for the last eight years. Formerly she was the City Editor of The Express Tribune, an English language national daily affiliated with the New York Times. She is an Asia Pacific Leadership Fellow, Generation '16, at the East-West Center in Hawai'i. She has an MA in Political Science from the University of Waterloo, Canada, and a BSc in Economics and Politics from the Lahore University of Management Sciences.
