Basics of Health Reporting: Nutrition as a Source of News Workshop by Nestle Pakistan
The Centre for Excellence in Journalism and Nestlé Pakistan organized a one-day training on ‘Basics of Health Reporting: Nutrition as a Source of News’ on April 1, 2019 at Avari Hotel in Lahore.
The trainers for the workshop were Director CEJ Kamal Siddiqi, public health specialist Dr. Fauzia Waqar, Business Recorder head of research Ali Khizar, senior health reporter Mukhtar Alam and Geo TV mobile journalism instructor Muhammad Rahamdil Khan. A total of 26 journalists attended the workshop.
Basics of Editing and Reporting Certificate Distribution Ceremony
A certificate distribution ceremony for participants who cleared the standardized tests of Basics of Editing and Reporting Workshop was held by the Centre for Excellence in Journalism on April 5, 2019. The passing percentage for the test was 60%. Ninety-three of the 187 candidates who appeared for the test, cleared it.
Panel Discussion on “Free Expression, Hate Speech and Regulation”
The CEJ conducted a panel discussion on Free Expression, Hate Speech and Regulation on April 5, 2019. The moderator for the session was Farieha Aziz, co-founder of Bolo Bhi. Panelists included Lahore-based lawyer Waqas Mir and journalist Ramsha Jehangir.
Humanitarian Reporting Workshop
The CEJ collaborated with the International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC) to conduct a two-day workshop on Humanitarian Reporting. The training was held from April 17- 18, 2019. It was led by communication professional dedicated to the field of development Sharjeel Shahzad; with guest lectures by, a digital media strategist Sahar Ghazi Habib; Project Manager, Healthcare in Danger at ICRC Dr. Ibrahim; and an independent psychotherapist Dr. Farah Nasim,
Data and its significance in Business Reporting Islamabad
The CEJ, in collaboration with the Overseas Investors Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OICCI), conducted a one-day workshop on ‘Data and its significance in Business Reporting’ on April 29, 2019 in Islamabad.
