'Awards for Reporting on the Informal Economy' 2020

Journalists are invited to submit entries for consideration to the ‘Awards for Reporting on the Informal Economy, 2020’.

This award is being organised by Philip Morris International (PMI) and the Centre for Excellence in Journalism (CEJ-IBA). The award will focus on work produced in the field of informal economy and will be judged under three categories:

  • Mainstream Broadcast;
  • Mainstream Print;
  • Digital.

Winners in each category will be awarded Rs60,000 and runners-ups will receive Rs40,000.

Participants can send stories/packages that they have published/produced on the informal economy from January 1, 2020, to May 14, 2020.

The award is open to all journalists irrespective of their affiliation or employer. Content will be judged for its originality and quality of work.

Submissions will be considered in Urdu and English. Where a byline is not given, the onus is on the applicant to prove that this is his/her work.

The deadline to submit entries is May 15, 2020.
