Basics of Urdu News Editing Course and Test

The Centre for Excellence in Journalism conducted a two-day workshop on ‘Basics of Urdu News Editing’ from February 19, 2019 to February 20, 2019. The trainer for the course was Dr. Tauseef Ahmed Khan, a senior journalist. The workshop was attended by 29 participants. After the course, a standardized test was held on February 25, 2019.



Panel Discussion “Why Study Media”

The CEJ conducted a panel discussion on “Why Study Media” on February 21, 2019. The moderator for the panel discussion was Associate Dean (Faculty of Business Administration) and Associate Professor of Social Sciences and Liberal Arts Dr. Huma Baqai.

The panelists for the session were: Director of the International Writing Program at the University of Iowa Dr. Christopher Merrill; award-winning journalist and scholar Dr. Lawrence Pintak; founder and President of HUM Network Ltd Sultana Siddiqui; founder of East River, a digital agency Faizan Syed; and Managing Editor Dawn.com Atika Rehman.



Creative Writing Workshop by Dr Chris Merill

The CEJ conducted a short workshop on creative writing on February 21, 2019. The lead trainer was Dr. Christopher Merrill, Director International Writing Program University of Iowa.



Talk by Dr. Lawrence Pintak

Dr. Lawrence Pintak conducted a talk on “The Changing Trends of Journalism” on February 21, 2019.
